(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The European Court of Human Rights will announce a decision on Tuesday, July 18, in the case of Russia versus Ukraine, where Russia is accusing Ukraine of the MH17 tragedy because Ukraine did not close its airspace. ECHR Commissioner Margarita Sokorenko wrote this on facebook , Ukrinform reports.
"The European Court of Human Rights has directly switched on turbo mode in cases involving Russia. This time, it is the interstate case against us, which Russia filed in July 2021 (and which made more media noise then). We expect the decision to be published on July 18, 2023. All the details, considerations and memories of the case after the decision is published. It will be interesting," Sokorenko
said.
As Ukrinform reported, in the case of Russia versus Ukraine (no. 36958/21), the aggressor country is trying to attribute responsibility for the MH17 tragedy to Ukraine for not closing the airspace.

Earlier, the European Court of Human Rights declared the interstate case Ukraine and the Netherlands versus Russia admissible.
Thus, the ECHR will proceed to consider the merits of the case, which concerns massive and systematic human rights violations in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions; abduction and attempts to illegally transfer orphans from Donetsk and Luhansk regions to the territory of the Russian Federation in 2014; and the downing of flight MH17.
