Brazil-Saudi Arabia Group Launched In Brazilian Senate

São Paulo – The Brazil-Saudi Arabia Parliamentary Group was established at the Brazilian federal Senate last week. According to information released by the house, the initiative aims to bring about legislative exchange, foster mutual understanding and deepen cooperation in fields of common interest.
Launching featured several congresspeople
Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Brazil, Faisal Ibrahim Ghulam, participated in the launching ceremony on Wednesday (5) and stressed the relevance of establishing a group as a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas between legislators form the two countries, the Senate reported.
The event was chaired by senator Wellington Fagundes and featured Brazilian congresspeople. The election of the chairperson and deputy chairperson of the group is slated to be held in the next meeting. In the opening photo, Ghulam (L) and Fagundes.
According to the Senate, through meetings, debates, official visits, and events, the congresspeople will seek to spot opportunities to improve Brazil-Saudi Arabia partnership. Strengthening ties is bound to pave the way for increasing bilateral trade, joint investments, and strategic partnerships. The cooperation between congresspeople is also expected to contribute to a better mutual understanding and a deeper political dialogue.
