Thai Operating Double Daily Flights To/From Dhaka From July 16


(MENAFN- Bangladesh Monitor) Dhaka: Thai Airways is launching daily night flights from July 16 on Dhaka-Bangkok route, announced the airline at a Thai Agent Networking programme held at a city hotel on July 10.

Ahmed Yusuf Walid, Managing Director, Air Galaxy (GSA of Thai Airways International PLC in Bangladesh) was present at the programme along with other high officials from the organisation and their agents operating in Bangladesh.

“With the double daily operations, the airline's total number of flights to/from Dhaka will increase to 14 per week,” said Ahmed Yusuf Walid, Managing Director of Air Galaxy, speaking on the occasion.

It may be mentioned here that the doubly daily Dhaka-Bangkok flights will be effective till the end of the summer schedule.

Effective July 16, the airline's first Bangkok-Dhaka flight (TG321) will land in Dhaka every day at 12:10 pm (local time) while the return flight TG322 will depart Dhaka every day at 01:35 pm.

The airline will operate the first flight on the route with the modern widebody aircraft Boeing 787 Dreamliner or Boeing 777-200 with 30 Business Class and 262 Economy Class seats.

Additionally, effective July 16, passengers can enjoy night flights daily on the route as the new flight TG339 will arrive at Dhaka Airport at 01:25 am (local time) while the return flight TG340 will depart Dhaka Airport at 02:45 am.

The airline will operate the new night flights with the modern Airbus A320-200 narrow body with 168 Economy Class seats.

At the programme, Thai Airways announced to celebrate the double daily flight launch in the summer holiday season by offering special discount in the Happy July promotion for return journey from Dhaka to popular destinations in Asia, North Asia, Europe and Australia.

THAI revenue up 271.2pc

At the networking programme, the airline announced that Thai Airways International Public Company Ltd (THAI) and its subsidiaries reported the total revenue of THB 41,507 million in the first quarter of 2023, 271.2 per cent higher than the THB 11,181 million in the same period last year.

This is due to an outstanding increase in passenger revenue following the resumption of flight services and the increase of flight frequencies in preferred routes such as destinations in Japan and Korea as well as operation resumption to destinations in China on March 1, 2023, said the airline.

Cabin factor in European, Australian, and Japanese flights were significantly high too, concluded the airline.
