Ukraine's PM Expects IMF Executive Board To Approve EFF Arrangement Soon

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said he expects the IMF Executive Board to approve the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement for Ukraine as soon as possible. He said this during a virtual meeting with Alfred Kammer, director of the IMF's European Department, Ukrinform reports, citing the government portal .
"We expect the staff-level agreement to be approved by the IMF Executive Board as soon as possible. This will enable Ukraine to receive the next $900 million," Shmyhal said.
He thanked the Fund's team for their productive work on the first review of the $15.6 billion Extended Fund Facility, as well as for their appraisal of Ukraine's progress.
During the meeting, both parties also discussed the issue of Ukraine's recovery.
"We are working to attract additional funds from our partners and we expect that the conference in London will bring results," Shmyhal said.

In late March, the IMF approved a new 48-month extended arrangement under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) of about $15.6 billion as part of a $115 billion total support package for Ukraine.
The first review of the EFF program for Ukraine took place in Vienna in late May.
On May 30, the IMF staff and the Ukrainian authorities reached staff-level agreement on an updated set of economic and financial policies for the first review under the four-year EFF arrangement.
