Arab Parliament Convenes To Discuss Political, Security Developments


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 10 (KUNA) -- The Arab Parliament convened Saturday to discuss the latest political and security developments in the Arab world.
The session, held at the Arab League's headquarters, was chaired by Parliament Speaker Adel Al-Asoumi.
This meeting, the fifth meeting during the third session of the third legislative term, is set to discuss a number of reports submitted by the parliament's committees.
The agenda includes a number of economic projects including stimulating investments in clean and renewableenergy in the Arab world as well as preparing for second Arab forum on bolstering economic integration.
The social affairs committee prepared a report on the social state of the Arab world in the year 2022, as well as establishing an Arabic language fund for less developed countries, fending off bullying phenomenon, and a draft law on domestic violence.
Moreover, the legislative committee submitted a report on human rights, namely project combating child labor, and remedying catastrophe ramifications on the human rights situation.
Four members of the People's Assembly of Syria took the oath and participated in the session after having been absent since 2011. (end)
