While a Turkish voter turned up at the polling station in Ayazağa booth with a lamb, another turned up at Esenyurt wearing Ottoman-era clothes with a pet parrot.

Social media users captured and shared videos of animals and pets accompanying voters at the ballot box.

The voter with the lamb became an instant hit on social media as bystanders immediately pulled out their phone to capture the moment. Citizens could not hide their surprise also because the lamb was dressed up in a sweater.

Turkish channel IHA stated that the citizen 'Nazim Cihan' turned up to vote with parrot 'Pasha'. "Pasha completes me. He is my comrade and everything," he was quoted as saying adding that dressing up in traditional clothes was his way of showing love to his ancestors.
