Doha: University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) has joined the CFA Institute University Affiliation Program.

Both the Bachelor of Business Administration in Banking and FinTech and Bachelor of Business Administration in Applied Accounting programmes have been acknowledged as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct within the programme.

These programmes position students well to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter, which has become the most respected and recognised investment credential in the world.

Entry into the CFA Institute University Affiliation Programme signals to potential students, employers, and the marketplace that UDST's curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations. Through participation in this programme, UDST is eligible to receive a limited number of CFA Program Student Scholarships each year.

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Banking and Financial Technology at UDST introduces students to the fundamentals of the Banking and FinTech industries, including the information technology areas critical to both. Students engage in hands-on practice in the application of Banking and FinTech concepts and strategies along with general business principles and practice.

Whereas the Bachelor of Business Administration in Applied Accounting, focuses on developing a strong foundation for students in technical accounting and business competencies, as well as on developing the soft skills necessary to succeed in the field of accounting.

Dr. Salem Al Naemi, President of UDST said:“We are pleased with this affiliation that acknowledges UDST's curriculum as closely tied to the professional practice and well-suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA examinations. The University focuses on applied and experiential learning in simulated workplaces and aims to graduate students who stand out from their peers in their ability to innovate, lead and solve challenges.”
