Chennai, Mar 24 (KNN) Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin on Thursday said that the state contributes over 10 per cent to the country's technology sector, and all stakeholders must come together to increase this further.

Addressing the technology conference, Umagine Chennai 2023 though video conferencing, he said, "More than 1,300 centres in the field of tech are already present in the state, we have the best educational institutions and we are already leading in the fields of automation and innovation.”



“The Information Technology (IT) sector is key for our model of inclusive development, and I urge the industry to work together and help us achieve these goals," he added.

Speaking on the occasion, T. Mano Thangaraj, state IT minister said that Tamil Nadu's software export potential is immense, and it can become India's tech capital.

“The state is in talks with Google and Amazon to grow here, and they are proceeding well,” he added.

The minister said the state has already identified land parcels for the TN Tech Cities announced in the state budget earlier this week.

Umagine Chennai 2023 aims at showcasing Tamil Nadu's potential to act as a global collaboration centre for tech, the growth of global technology centre ecosystems in the state, and the role played by TN women talent, among others.
