Kyiv Comments On Putin's Visit To Mariupol:“Criminal Always Returns To The Crime Scene”


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Mykhailo Podolyak, the advisor to the head of the President's Office, commented on the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom the International Criminal Court in The Hague suspects of war crimes, to the temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk region.

Podolyak delivered his comment via twitter , Ukrinform reports.

“The criminal always returns to the crime scene. As the civilized world announces the arrest of the 'war director' (VV Putin) in case of crossing its borders, the murderer of thousands of Mariupol families came to admire the ruins of the city & graves. Cynicism & lack of remorse.

As reported, the International Criminal Court in The Hague on March 17 charged the Kremlin chief with the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children, which is recognized as a war crime under international law. The ICC operates in accordance with the Rome Statute, which has been ratified by 123 countries.

Based on the reports by Kremlin propaganda outlets, Putin on March 19 made a trip to the temporarily captured Mariupol, Donetsk region, where he 'inspected a number of municipal facilities and spoke with local residents.'
