Kuwait's Constitutional Court Annuls 2022 Parliament, Reinstates 2020 Formation


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 19 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Constitutional Court issued a verdict on Sunday annulling the results of the 2022 National Assembly (parliament) elections and bringing back the 2020 formation of parliament.
The court decided that the election process, which took place last September, was null and void due to discrepancies in the decree dissolving the National Assembly of 2020.
The results of the 2022 elections, held in five constituencies, were now annulled and the members of the 2020 parliament are now reinstated, it added.
The Constitutional Court decided on March eighth to postpone challenges filed against 2022 elections results to March 19th. (end)
