Three construction workers died and two were hospitalized with broken limbs on Thursday, March 2, after a telescopic crane fell on Avenida Ricardo J. Alfaro in the El Bosque sector, Amelia Denis De Icaza district. The Fire Department attended the accident and reported that the fall of the crane destroyed two slabs, affecting floors 9 and 11 of the structure under construction. Captain Luis Ángel Jaramillo, of the Panama Fire Department,
indicated that at the moment the cause of the accident is unknown but The San Miguelito Regional Prosecutor's Office, through the Homicide and Femicide Section, has opened an investigation.
