US aims to work with allies to support Ukraine against Russian aggression


(MENAFN) U.S. President Joe Biden's visit to Kyiv has resulted in plans for a comprehensive effort to support Ukraine in its ongoing struggle against Russian aggression. Following detailed discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the U.S. aims to work closely with its allies and partners to provide military, economic, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.

National Security Advisor to President Joe Biden, Jake Sullivan, spoke at a press briefing on Tuesday, explaining that there will be a lot of follow-up work in the wake of the discussions between the two leaders, including further consultations with allies and partners. The U.S. President is also expected to meet with President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, and his team to discuss a larger coalition of nations seeking to support Ukraine.

Sullivan emphasized that the discussions would cover every aspect of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, including Russia's aggression towards the country. President Biden and President Duda will be discussing military, economic, and humanitarian support for Ukraine, as well as other forms of assistance.

President Biden's visit to Kyiv was unexpected, but he held detailed negotiations with President Zelensky, covering every facet of the ongoing conflict. The U.S. President's visit to Warsaw, which follows his trip to Kyiv, includes meetings with Poland's leadership and the leaders of the Bucharest Nine countries.
