Mol Shows Advantages Of Private-Sector Jobs To University And School Students

Doha: The Ministry of Labour (MoL), represented by the National Manpower Employment Department, participated in the“The Future of Business Starts Here”- Uni Expo Qatar/ University Fair organised by Qatar University, and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for secondary school students.

The participation of the Ministry of Labour comes within the framework of the initiatives implemented by the Ministry to increase the productivity of the national workforce and to introduce students to the career training and employment opportunities available to them in the private sector, and to introduce them to the national programme for nationalising jobs in the private sector, and the benefits offered by private sector establishments to Qatari employees.

The Ministry of Labour, in coordination with universities, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and educational institutions, seeks to reduce the gap between labour market needs and education outputs, with the aim of achieving national development goals in accordance with Qatar Vision 2030.

During their participation at Al-Wakra Secondary School for Girls, Ramla Bint Abi Sufyan Secondary School for Girls and Ali Bin Jassim Secondary School for Boys, employees of the Ministry of Labour gave an overview of the advantages of employing Qatari nationals in private facilities and the extent of the Qatari employee's ability to progress and develop during the practical career within the private sector facilities, the training programmes offered by the sector, and the available scholarship opportunities.

The Ministry's employees also reviewed the most important and prominent stages and achievements of the national programme for the nationalisation of jobs in the private sector during their participation in the event of the College of Business and Economics at Qatar University.

The Ministry of Labour, through the periodic meetings of the Forum for the Qatarisation of Jobs in the Private Sector, is working on finding mechanisms to introduce the role of private sector companies in employing Qatari men and women and the advantages offered by these establishments, in partnership with various agencies and institutions.

Last year witnessed an increase in the number of Qatari men and women who were employed in the private sector, as the number of Qatari employees increased from 394 employees in 2021 to 1,850 employees in 2022.
