European shares end with increases apart from France


(MENAFN) European shares ended with increases on Wednesday apart from France.

The STOXX Europe 600, which contains nearly 90 percent of the market capitalization of the European market in 17 nations, surged 1.27 points, or 0.28 percent, to close standing at 459.46.

The UK's FTSE 100 added 20 points, or 0.26 percent, to finish the day standing at 7,885. Germany's DAX 30, in the same time, increased 91 points, or 0.6 percent, to reach 15,412.

Italy's FTSE MIB gained around 42 points, or 0.15 percent, to reach 27,160 and Spain's IBEX 35 was 54 points higher, or 0.6 percent, to close the session standing 9,227.

France's CAC 40, on the other hand, declined 12 points, or 0.18 percent, to end standing at 7,119.

International benchmark Brent crude exchanged at USD85.20 a barrel as of 9.40 AM regional time (0640 GMT), surging 0.13 percent from the ending price of USD85.09 per barrel in the prior exchange session.
