Baghdad, Feb. 9 (Petra) -- Jordan covers 10 percent of the Iraqi market's need for medicines, representative of the medical industries and medical supplies sector at the Jordan Chamber of Industry, Fadi Al-Atrash, said on Thursday.
On the sidelines of a visit by a private sector delegation to Iraq, Al-Atrash noted that pharmaceuticals are among the most prominent Jordanian exports to the Iraqi market, including pills, capsules, liquid medicines, ointments, drops, sprays, and intravenous injections, with an amount of nearly $100 million in 2022.
'Iraq is one of the first regional countries to open its markets to Jordanian medicine,' he added, pointing to the cooperation between the Jordan Food and Drug Administration and the Iraqi Ministry of Health to organize workshops and hold joint scientific courses.
Al-Atrash voiced hope for continued trade cooperation between Jordan and Iraq, accelerating the registration of Jordanian medicine in the Iraqi market, and facilitating the flow of land and air freight between the two countries.
