Hong Kong Delegation Leader To Saudi Arabia Highlights Cooperation

Chaired by Chief Executive Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) John Lee, Hong Kong delegation officials held a press conference, here on Sunday to explain the wide variety of opportunities between Hong Kong and the Middle East, during his first visit to Riyadh, which will be followed by a visit to UAE.

The mission, which the Hong Kong Trade Development Council coordinated, includes more than 30 businesspeople (HKTDC). Entrepreneurs represent a variety of industries, including those in manufacturing, finance and trade, technology, infrastructure, and logistics among others.

In addition to having unmatched access to and connectivity with the rest of the world, we benefit from our country's national strategies being strongly supported. Lee continued.

Lee provided an update to the media on opportunities in China and Asia that might be accessed through Hong Kong, as well as on recent changes in Hong Kong, particularly fresh initiatives to draw in foreign investment and businesses.

Dr. Peter KN Lam, Chairman of the HKTDC, added that Hong Kong can assist in enabling development initiatives for various countries across the world as a global financial hub, China's gateway to the rest of the world, and a commercial hub for the Belt and Road Initiative.

The press conference hosted Mr Darryl Chan, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the city's financial regulator; Dr Sunny Chai, Chairman of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and Federation of Hong Kong Industries; Ms Betty Yuen, Chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce who introduced the latest opportunities in Hong Kong in finance, technology and smart city and sustainability development, as well as business and professional services.

To share ideas and learn more about the Kingdom's Vision 2030, the group will visit with some of the country's most significant businesses. The HKSAR Chief Executive will also speak at the LEAP Technology Conference, and they will also visit significant projects like NEOM.
