SAEE chairman assures Mideast stake of renewables to see massive surge within decade end


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia is dedicated to driving energy alteration utilizing renewables but not at the price of traditional gas as the world requires suitable provision to reach its request, as said by a head representative of a Saudi energy body.

In an exclusive meeting with Arab News, the Saudi Association of Energy Economics Chairman Majeed Al-Moneef mentioned that the nation, and the Middle East area as a whole, is going to be at the lead of the two traditional and renewable energy supplies, as it progressively advances in reaching sustainable goals.

“We will follow the world trend in increasing the share of renewables in our energy mix. But that will not be done by sacrificing our oil and gas sectors, but along with the development of our oil and gas sectors,” according to Al-Moneef.

The chairman of SAEE which operates in the way of constructing higher abilities in energy economics noted that the Middle East region is having a key part in the energy alteration journey, as it carries on providing hydrocarbons which are essential as the world goes into a fresh energy system.

Added, “We have the Saudi Green Initiative and Middle East Green Initiative. So, we are an important player in traditional energy sources and renewable energy sources. We will be in the forefront of both.”
