Russia permits Kazakhstan to send oil to Germany via its pipelines

(MENAFN) The Druzhba pipeline's Russian segment is operated by Transneft, a state-owned pipeline transport corporation, and the supply of Kazakh oil to Germany has been authorized by the Russian energy Ministry.

According to a statement released on Friday by the firm's press office, the oil transportation business KazTransOil is going to ship 300,000 tons of crude "in the direction of the Adamova Zastava oil delivery point for further delivery to German" in the first quarter of this year.

The operator further stated that shipments of this quantity of petroleum are planned for transit via Russia via the network of major pipelines of oil from CIS member states.

Despite the current European Union ban exempting pipeline supply of petroleum to the bloc from the sanctioned country, Berlin halted importing Russian oil via pipelines on January 1.

Bolat Akchulakov, Kazakhstan's energy minister, had earlier claimed that the nation is going to provide 1.5 million tons of oil to Germany in this year, with potential future increases to 7 million tons.
