Golestan province outputs up to 1,000 tons of chicken meat each day


(MENAFN) As declared by a provincial official, on average, around 700 to 1,000 tons of chicken meat is outputted and sent to the markets in Golestan district, in the northeast of Iran, with the health supervision of veterinary specialists.

Ali Kavousi, the chief of the province’s Veterinary Department, stated that of the said figure, around 120 tons is consumed in the province whereas the rest is distributed to Tehran as well as additional cities.

Hossein Damavandi-Nejad, the deputy minister for livestock outputs, mentioned that the production volume of chicken meat in the nation is three million tons and additionally said that the entire supply of the nation’s chicken meat market has been reached up to now.

He also asserted that egg output is estimated to amount to 1.2 million tons in this year, of which 80,000 tons are shipped.

“Interventions have caused ups and downs, but we must pay attention to the logic that the system is a system of supply and demand”, the official pointed out, also stating that “Even in addition to fully meeting the domestic needs of poultry, we can respond to the needs of up to 10 million people around the country.”

Damavandi-Nejad also noted that around nine months have went by since the implementation of the big strategy to establish the financial structure, mainly in the agricultural industry and the poultry industry of the nation, and stated that “In the beginning, due to the magnitude of this plan, there were concerns, but with the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture, the issue was managed and now production and storage of chicken meat, eggs, and other livestock and agricultural products are in suitable conditions.”
