Over quarter of Europeans are experiencing problems with home heating
(MENAFN) According to a poll by the Szazadveg think tank, which was quoted by the Hungarian media on Friday, more than a quarter of Europeans are having trouble paying their obligations for housing and utilities as well as heating their houses.
The Europe Project study found that 26 percent of the sample, or almost 100 million individuals, are unable to adequately heat their houses. Greeks looked to be the group most severely impacted, with 56 percent of the population having trouble heating their homes. 34 percent of locals in Portugal and France mentioned the same issues. Less than 15 percent of citizens in Finland, Hungary, Austria, and Denmark reported experiencing difficulties, making these countries the least affected.
At least once over the previous year, according to every fourth survey participant, they were unable to pay their heating payment. The country with the biggest percentage of impacted citizens was Greece (51 percent), followed by Cyprus (37 percent), Ireland (35 percent), and Bulgaria (35 percent).
