WAZIRISTAN, Pakistan – At least 11 terrorists killed in an intelligence-based operation by the local security forces in Pakistan's South Waziristan on Thursday, according to sources, aimed at curtailing the rising militancy in the country.

Earlier this week, Pakistani Taliban warned the country's main ruling parties of“concrete action” for“declaring war” against it, months after the group ended ceasefire.

However, it remained unclear whether the declared terrorists belong to the Pakistani Taliban, known as the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

“While conducting the intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general area, the security forces successfully“foiled a high-profile terrorist activity,” Inter-Services Public Relations Pakistan (ISPR), the country's military's media wing, was quoted as saying by the Geo News.

The eliminated 11 terrorists include the local terrorist commander Hafiz Ullah and two suicide bombers, where security forces also recovered
a huge number of weapons and ammunition.

“The killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and target killing of police in South Waziristan district,” said the ISPR, as india today quoted .
