US is considering more weaponry for Ukraine

(MENAFN) As shown by Politico, the US aims to give Ukraine with new weaponry in the near future, boosting its military's striking range.

Based on the media site, which cited "six persons with knowledge of the conversations," the decision to supply more supplies was driven by top Ukrainian authorities' worries that Russia is gathering forces ahead of a big winter attack.

According to Politico, the Biden administration is reportedly considering giving Kiev with ground-launched small diameter bombs and high-precision weapons with a range of 150 kilometers (94 miles). According to the report, the supply of joint direct attack munition kits, which are used to transform unguided aerial ordnance into smart bombs, is also being considered.

As said by Politico, these supplies would be in addition to current preparations for the transfer of Patriot air-defense systems. Several US media sites have reported that the plans are nearing completion.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Wednesday that Russia would undoubtedly strike these missile systems if they were placed in Ukraine.

Brigadier General Patrick Ryder, Pentagon Press Secretary, announced on Thursday the extension of a training program for Ukrainian military troops at a US station on German land. The number of troops planned to go there each month is projected to climb to roughly 500.
