GCC Chief Deplores Attack On Iraqi Police


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Dec 20 (KUNA) -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Nayef Al-Hajraf on Tuesday denounced a recent attack on Iraqi security forces in north Iraq, which left multiple casualties.
In a press statement, Al-Hajraf restated the Gulf bloc's unwavering position that decries all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism which run counter to human values and principles.
The GCC chief extended sincere condolences solace to the victims' families and the government and people of Iraq, while wishing a swift recovery for all those injured in the attack.
Eight Iraqi policemen were killed and three others injured on Monday in an attack launched by militants in Diyala Province to the northeast of the capital, Baghdad. (end)
