(MENAFN- Mid-East.Info) £1 million gift to London Business School to support Lebanese students with financial need
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: London Business School (LBS) has received a £1 million gift from Transmed to establish the Transmed Scholarship Programme.
The pledge will provide two full tuition fee awards each year over the next five years. The Scholarship will be open to Lebanese candidates across all LBS degree programmes who demonstrate financial need.
Transmed is a consumer goods and foodservice marketer, distributor and manufacturer established in Lebanon in 1946 with operations across the Levant, Gulf, Africa and Europe.
Chairman and CEO, Fouad Es-Said, said: “We are super excited to be partnering with LBS, a global leading business school, to help the best and brightest Lebanese students with financial needs to accomplish their graduate degrees.”
The £1 million gift forms part of the School's wider Forever Forward Campaign, which aims to raise £200 million over five years. Forever Forward will support the School's purpose: to have a profound impact on the way the world does business and the way business impacts the world. The Campaign will enable greater investment in scholarships, research, innovation and the learning environment.
François Ortalo-Magné, Dean of LBS, commended Transmed on their support for greater socio-economic diversity in business education:
