Ukraine Did Not Undertake Any New Obligations Regarding 'Grain Deal' MFA


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Ukraine has not undertaken any new obligations regarding the grain deal, and Moscow has resumed its implementation thanks to the active diplomatic efforts of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The relevant statement was made by Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Ministry Oleg Nikolenko on , an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Nikolenko, Putin announced that Russia had decided to unblock the grain deal after Ukraine provided 'guarantees' that the grain corridor would not be used for military purposes.

In this regard, Nikolenko emphasized that Ukraine had not used and had not been planning to use the grain corridor for military purposes, and was strictly following the provisions of the grain deal.

“Our state has not undertaken any new obligations that would go beyond those already existing in the grain deal. Moscow has resumed the implementation of the grain deal thanks to the active diplomatic efforts of UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. In coordination with Ukraine, they found the words that Putin understood. It was not a position of concessions but strength,” Nikolenko stressed.

In addition, Nikolenko thanked the United Nations and Türkiye for their leadership in restoring the operation of the grain corridor, which plays an important role in ensuring the global food security.
