Iran’s average monthly tax revenue surges 80 percent YoY

(MENAFN) Chief of Iran's National Tax Administration (INTA) Davoud Manzour has stated that the administration’s average month-on-month tax collections have risen by 80 percent in the present Iranian calendar year (opened on March 21) in comparison to the prior year.

In line with Manzour, last year every month around 250 trillion rials (nearly USD864 million) of taxes were gathered on average, whereas the number has amounted to 450 trillion rials (USD1.55 billion) in the present year, Tasnim news agency mentioned in a report.

As said by the official, INTA has been taking thoughtful actions for battling tax evasion so that the organization has revealed over 170 cases during the last year and the violators have been faced with heavy penalties.

The official also stated that “Unfortunately, there are many problems in the regulations and laws regarding company establishment and there is no necessary strictness. We see such cases with regard to business cards and credit cards as well.”
