Amman Marathon To Start Friday

Amman, Oct. 13 (Petra) -- Run Jordan, a non-governmental organization dedicated to the promotion of competitive and leisure running, announced on Thursday that all preparations, including road closures and traffic diversions, are in place for the Amman International Marathon, which begins on Friday.
According to a statement released by the event planners, police officers will be stationed at key intersections to direct traffic to the alternative routes.
The 42-kilometer and 21-kilometer race tracks will be closed from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday. Closures begin at Raghadan Complex and extend all the way to Army Street and King Talal Street.
On Friday, the course for the 9 a.m. 10-kilometer race will be closed from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. During this race, the Queen Alia Street (between Sport City Circle and Al-Dakhliya Circle) and Queen Nour Street (between Al-Dakhliya Circle and the 4th Circle) will be closed.
The largest of Run Jordan's major running events, the annual Amman Marathon is organized by Aquafina this year and draws runners from all over the world and the Kingdom.
