Authentic Malaysian Food Festival Underway At Le Meridien Dhaka

Dhaka: Seven-day long Malaysian food festival is currently underway at Le Meridien Dhaka's signature restaurant Latest Recipe organised by Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and industry (BMCCI).

The authentic Malaysian Food Festival started on October 8 and will run till October 14.

During the weeklong festival, guests can experience a wide array of signature dishes from Malaysia curated by Malaysian Masterchef Ahmad Khairul bin Ismail followed by a live cultural performance showcasing Malaysian heritage.



In the menu, there are fresh salads such as Ulam Ulam (assorted cut raw vegetables), Sambal Belcahan (Prawn Chili Paste) and Acar Jelatah (vegetable pickle). Delicious Kerabu Long Bean (Long Bean Salad with Shredded Coconut) is also available to tantalise the tastebuds.

To enjoy soup, guests can indulge in Ikan Singgang (Sour fish soup with turmeric and galangal).

For main course, mouth-watering Nasi Goreng Kampung (Fried Rice with Anchovies, Mustard Greens Chilies and Fermented Prawn Paste), Nasi Lemak (Traditional Malay Coconut Rice with Chili Gravy Boiled Eggs, Fried Anchovies and Groundnut), Rendang Daging (Traditional Malay Beef Rendang cooked with Spices and Coconut Gravy), Ayam Masak Korma (Chicken Korma Style Gravy with Potatoes), Ayam Goren Berempah (Fried Chicken with Spices and Herbs), Sambal Udang (Prawn with spicy Chili Gravy), Ikan Asam Pedas (Sweet and Spicy Sour Fish with Okra and Brinjal), and Sayur Taugeh Tumis Udang Kering (Stir Fried Bean Sprouts and Chives with Dried Prawns) are sure to please your tummies.

As cherry on top, delectable desserts such as Bubur Jagung Sago (Sweet corn porridge with sago), Pandan Agar Agar (pandan jelly) and fresh sliced fruits are available for the sweet lovers.



The food festival was inaugurated by Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on October 8 at Sky ballroom in Le Meridien Dhaka. The Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad was present at the event as the Special Guest, and the High Commissioner of Malaysia Haznah Md Hashim as Guest of Honour.
