Qatar Charity (QC) received a QR1mn cheque as a donation from Doha Bank in support of the 'Pakistan Relief' and 'Somalia Hunger Appeal' campaigns aiming to deliver humanitarian aid to the flood victims of Pakistan and those affected by drought in Somalia.
The contribution is part of Doha Bank's social responsibility programme and commitment to support charitable activities and humanitarian causes around the world, a QC statement said Sunday.
Ahmmed Omar AlSherawi, director of the Customer Service Department at QC, received the cheque from Ahmad Ali al-Hanzab, head of Administration and Properties at Doha Bank.
AlSherawi appreciated Doha Bank's support for the various campaigns of QC, praising the bank's contribution to community service and humanitarian causes.
Al-Hanzab noted that Doha Bank pays great attention to humanitarian causes by extending support to marginalised communities through QC. He lauded QC's humanitarian efforts and affirmed the bank's intention to continue to support such initiatives, campaigns, and projects in the future.
