Transport Minister, Counterparts Review Ties

Doha/ Montreal: Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti held separate meetings with his counterparts from the Republic of Niger, the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and the Republic of Uganda, on the sidelines of Qatar's participation in the 41st Session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly.

The minister reviewed Qatar's cooperation relations and ways to enhance them in the fields of transportation and air transportation with Niger's Minister of Transportations H E Oumarou Malam Alma, Ethiopia's Minister of Transport, H E Dagmawit Moges and Uganda's Minister of Works and Transport H E Katumba Wamala. 

They also reviewed latest developments on civil aviation industry and exchanged views on matters of common interest.

The Minister of Transport also held separate meetings with Zimbabwean Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Hon Felix Tapiwa Mhona and President of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of the brotherly Sultanate of Oman Eng Naif Ali Al Abri, on the sidelines of Qatar's participation in the 41st Session of the ICAO Assembly. The two meetings reviewed ways to develop cooperation ties in the fields of air transportation and civil aviation, in addition to discussing latest developments on civil aviation industry. Qatar and Belize have signed an air services agreement, which comes in the context of connecting Qatar with more such agreements that open airspaces for the national carrier to fly to more destinations around the world. 

The agreement was signed by Minister of Transport H E Al Sulaiti and Belize's Minister of Economy and Civil Aviation Hon Andre Perez, on the sidelines of Qatar's participation in the 41st Session of ICAO Assembly. 

After the signing ceremony, the two ministers reviewed ways to develop Qatar-Belize relations in the fields of civil aviation and transportation services.
