Copa Plane Leaves Runway During Tocumen Landing

A plane of the Panamanian airline Copa Airlines went off the runway during its landing in Panama. It carried 159 passengers and seven crew members.

According to the company, no injuries were reported, and all were taken to the terminal where they received assistance from airline personnel.

'Of all the passengers, some in connection will continue with their itinerary in the next few hours, while the rest will be located in a local hotel and will complete their trip later, ' the company said.

They explained that the aircraft remains at the scene of the incident and will be removed by specialized personnel as soon as possible. The airline also reported that, due to the temporary closure of the airport, one flight was diverted to the Panama Pacifico airport while others were delayed. Tocumen International Airport announced the reopening of one of its two runways and operations have resumed.
