Turkey’s daily electricity usage increases by 1.36 percent on Sept. 20


(MENAFN) Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) data released on Wednesday shows that daily electricity usage in Turkey grew by 1.36 percent on Tuesday in comparison to the day before, standing at 913,746 megawatts per hours.

According to TEIAS statistics, the peak hourly power usage was 42,952 megawatts per hours at 03:00 regional time (1200 GMT). At 5:00 a.m. regional time, the nation's power consumption reached its lowest point of 31,424 megawatts per hours (0200 GMT).

On Tuesday, 902,057 megawatts per hours of electricity were produced, a rise of 1.81 percent over the previous day.

Natural gas power factories comprised by 33.3 percent of the entire amount of electricity produced, whereas imported coal and lignite power factories constituted by 22.4 percent and 12.8 percent, correspondingly.

The nation's power exports on Tuesday totaled 7,924 megawatts per hours, while its imports came to 19,615 megawatts per hours.
