Huobi Global, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange and blockchain solutions provider, announced on July 12 that its philanthropic arm Huobi Charity has made a donation to Stonyhurst College, in Lancashire, United Kingdom, to improve the College's facilities. Stonyhurst College has longstanding ties with the island territory of Gibraltar, where Huobi Global has a strong presence and financial license. With the donation, Huobi Global hopes to grow alongside the local community.

“Stonyhurst College is grateful for Huobi Charity's support of the 'Passing It On Campaign' to build a new rugby pavilion on the 1st XV pitch, Smithfield, at Stonyhurst. This support recognizes and strengthens the long-standing links between Stonyhurst College and the Gibraltar community' said Suzanne Wheeler, Director of Development at Stonyhurst College.
The newly-constructed pavilion has been named“The Gibraltar Pavilion,” in recognition of the long-standing history between Gibraltar and the College. The new pavilion will not just significantly enhance the rugby facilities at Stonyhurst, but benefit generations of pupils to come. A celebratory event, the largest for the college in 30 years, was held at the Pavilion last month to mark the College's rugby centennial.
Gibraltar's business-friendly environment has attracted many global enterprises, including Huobi Global. In 2018, Huobi's Gibraltar entity received a distributed ledger technology (DLT) license from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC).
