15Th Consignment Of Wheat From India On Way To Jalalabad
KABUL (Pajhwok): India has dispatched 2,500 metric tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan through Pakistan as humanitarian aid, a media report said on Monday.
The 15th consignment of wheat aid was sent to the war-torn country via the Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar, ANI reported.
In line with its aid pledge, an official said, New Delhi had delivered 36,000 MTs of wheat to the food-insecure country to date.
India had sent 3,000 metric tonnes of wheat in late June to Afghanistan via the Pakistan land route.
India has promised providing 50,000 metric tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan. The first consignment had arrived in the eastern city of Jalalabad on February 26.
