Brazilian striker Alex Teixeira ends contract with Besiktas


(MENAFN) Brazilian striker Alex Teixeira has made his departure from Besiktas, the Turkish club made the announcement on Saturday.

In line with a club statement the Brazilian who is 32 years old got his contract terminated after a mutual agreement was reached and he is now a free agent.

Teixeira began off his career in Brazil with Vasco da Gama, in advance to moving to Ukraine’s Shakhtar Donetsk in 12 years ago, marking his name in a team that achieved five league titles and seven cups in the space of four years.

He got 89 goals in 222 appearances under his name for Shakhtar.

Teixeira made his transfer from Ukraine for China in 7 years ago, where he achieved the championship with Jiangsu FC in 2 years ago, only months before the club stopped actions because of economic problems.

The center forward played with Besiktas for one season only, netting four goals in 31 appearances and assisting the Istanbul side lift the Turkish Super Cup.
