Poll shows that Trump would win in rematch in 2024

(MENAFN) According to a recent survey, US President Joe Biden would lose against US President Donald Trump in a prospective presidential election in 2024.

In a hypothetical contest, Trump leads Biden 44 percent to 39 percent, according to a new Emerson College poll.

Another 12% of likely voters stated they will vote for someone else.

Biden's popularity has dwindled since May, when the same survey showing Trump with 44 percent support in a 2024 contest versus Biden, whose popularity has fallen from 42 percent in May to 39 percent in late June.

Despite the fact that the incumbent wants to run again, some Democrats are debating whether Biden should run for a second term.

Trump has regularly hinted at a possible 2024 candidacy, but he hasn't yet committed to another campaign, and several Republicans remain unconvinced that he would really run again.

Meanwhile, according to the survey, Trump leads the pool of probable Republican presidential contenders in 2024.

In the 2024 Republican primary, 55 percent of respondents indicated they would back Trump, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is a distant second. DeSantis, a rising star within the party, received 20% of the vote.
