Kremlin responds to Ukraine’s EU-applicant status
(MENAFN) Brussels should decide on whom to grant EU-candidate status, but it should be done without causing more issues for Russia, in accord with the Kremlin press-secretary Dmitry Peskov.
After a call to note on the European Council’s decision to grant Ukraine and Moldova the status of EU applicants, Peskov said that “those are, of course, internal European affairs.”
On the other hand, he also declared that “it’s very important for us that those processes won’t create more problems for us and for our relations with those countries.”
“There’s enough of those problems already,” he replied, mentioning Russia’s current military operation in Ukraine and the course on severing relations with Moscow taken by Moldova since Maia Sandu was chosen as a leader in 2021.
