Britain's Defense Minister Pays Secret Visit To Ukraine
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) LONDON, June 10 (KUNA) -- The British Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that Defense Minister Ban Wallace paid a two-day secret visit to Kyiv this week, during which he held meetings with his Ukrainian counterpart, Oleksiy Reznikovl, and President Vladimir Zelensky.
The Defense Ministry said in a press release that the visit enabled the minister to hear firsthand how the operational needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces evolve as the nature of the conflict continues to change.
UK's ongoing support is evolving to meet those requirements and tailored to the situation on the ground, it added.
The statement stressed that Wallace's meetings focused on the UK's continued provision of practical combat assistance capable of facing current and future threats against Ukraine.
Wallace's visit will support the international response to Ukraine more broadly, the official statement elaborated.
Wallace pointed out in this regard that since the beginning of the war, Britain has sent to the Ukrainians 750 million pounds (USD 926 million) worth of weapons and military equipment, including anti-tank missiles, air defense systems and armored vehicles, (end)
