Safadi, Egyptian FM Talk Ties, Cooperation

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Monday night met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry as part of constant coordination and consultation between the two countries. Safadi and Shoukry went over steps that both countries are implementing to translate the 'strategic brotherly ties' that connect them into a comprehensive cooperation in various fields and as part of the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Iraq, according to a ministry statement. The two ministers also discussed means to implement the outcomes of the Jordanian-Egyptian-Emirati summit that Cairo hosted on April 24. They also stressed proceeding with coordination and joint action to find a political ground to solve the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution in a way that meets all the legitimate rights of the Palestinians as the only means to realise fair and comprehensive peace. They also discussed several regional and international issues of mutual interest, agreeing to continue consultation on means to deal with them in the next stage.
