Doha: Qatar Chamber (QC) First Vice-Chairman and Chairperson of its education committee Mohamed bin Towar Al Kuwari praised the development of education in Qatar, assuring that Qatar has attached exceptional attention to the education sector as it is considered a main driver of the sustainable development, and one of the four pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to build a knowledge-based economy.
This came during a meeting held yesterday with a delegation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) education committee led by its Chairperson Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Balushi and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting touched on enhancing cooperation between both panels and exchanging expertise about the best practices that contribute to developing the private education sector.
The event was attended by a number of both panels' members, as well as many businessmen and investors in the private education sector.
Al Kuwari went on to stress that the Qatar's wise leadership has made education a major priority and has afforded a world-class education for all categories, noting that since the private sector is a real partner in the state's development march, it plays a leading role in the education process.
He praised the development witnessed by the education sector thanks to the tireless efforts and fruitful cooperation among all entities, as well as taking advantage of other foreign experiences in this field.

Underscoring the role played by the QC education committee, Al Kuwari said that it discusses obstacles faced by the private education sector for finding appropriate solutions.
Regarding the committee's competencies, he pointed out that it reviews the most important issues relating to the private education sector and mechanisms for improving its business environment, adding that it coordinates with all competent bodies in the state and adopts pilot initiatives that enhance its role in the state's education process.
Al Kuwari also reviewed the committee's leading role during the COVID-19 pandemic, assuring that it sought to resolve the obstacles faced by private schools and educational centres by enhancing coordination with relevant authorities to ensure that the educational process continues.
For his part, Chairperson of the education committee at OCCI Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Balushi said that Qatar's experiment in education is leading and advanced, assuring that the delegation is interested to learn about the private education sector policies and strategies, as well as the incentives and facilities offered by the State of Qatar for foreign investors in this sector.
Al Balushi stressed the importance of boosting cooperation with the QC education committee and exchanging knowledge and experience between the two sides, praising Qatar's education sector at all stages, from the early education to higher education sectors, as well as special needs education, integrated education, and training.
During the meeting, QC education committee delivered a presentation on its competences and objectives.
It noted that the committee represents a link between the private sector and entities and aims at raising the private education efficiency and development, preparing studies and research in this sector, identifying obstacles, and making recommendations to the relevant bodies.
