(MENAFN) One Japanese corporation has been authorized to carry silicon wafers through the plants of the globe's largest chip manufacturers for nearly 40 years.

It is therefore returning to the planning draft to rebuild its omnipresent above conveyors in order to meet an unprecedented increase in data usage, as well as international chip demand.

Over its 85-year history, Daifuku has progressed from transporting paperwork among offices and hospital wards to managing the globe's most sensitive microelectronics, producing the conveyor belts and boxes that speed across the roofs of current semiconductor factories.

These containers and tracks, which transport chips to various portions of the manufacturing operations at rates of over five meters per second, will need to hold 100 kilos — or five times their current load — within a few years, according to Hiroshi Geshiro, chief executive.
