Qatar University to hold Al Qabas Foundation Program in March

Doha: In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), Qatar University's Foundation Program (FP), under the Deanship of General Studies, is organizing“Al Qabas Program 2022” for the fourth year in a row. This year's event will be held under the theme:“to prepare high school students for a successful university experience.” 

The student outreach initiative will be held after school hours virtually for grades 10 and 11 high school students from March 20 to 24. The on campus programme will run from March 27 to 30.

The programme's goal is to raise awareness among Qatari high school students regarding different skills such as study skills and test taking strategies needed to succeed in STEM and medicine fields. In addition, it aims to prepare students for university life through a variety of educational sessions offered in English, develop their English and math skills, thereby paving the way for enrollment in STEM colleges and enhancing students' chances for success. The programme also includes college and class visits to simulate their university experience.

Al Qabas Program also includes orientation sessions about admission and QU student services. Following the completion of the programme, students will be awarded certificates of participation. The programme attracted 215 female and 49 male high school students from grades 10 and 11 participated last year,
