Afghanistan - Popular local singer, Ustad Salam Logari, dies at 86

KABUL: Famous local folklore singer, vocalist and harmonium player, Ustad Salaam Logari, has died at age of 86 after being bed-ridden for years. He sang and performed original local Logari songs for four decades. He was very popular and was once awarded title of Ustadi by government.
According to his relatives, Ustad Logari has been bedridden in recent years.
He was laid to rest on Saturday in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province.
Salam Logari was 86 years old and he was awarded the title of Ustadi by the Ministry of Information and Culture.
Ustad Salam Logari was famous for performing original Logari songs in Afghanistan and abroad, and most people are familiar with his name and voice.
