(MENAFN) As the crisis between Russia and Ukraine worsens, the US reported it transported around 200,000 pounds of “lethal aid" to Ukraine on Friday night.
The American embassy in Ukraine posted pictures of the initial cargo of military aid which Joe Biden promised to deliver earlier.
The embassy posted, “This shipment includes close to 200,000 pounds of lethal aid, including ammunition for the front line defenders of Ukraine.”
It further wrote, “The shipment - and USD2.7 billion USD since 2014 - demonstrates US commitment to helping Ukraine bolster its defenses in the face of growing Russian aggression.”
Oleksii Reznikov, Ukraine’s defense minister, praised America for the cargo in a post on Twitter, “All Ukrainians highly appreciate US help in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities."
