Turkish main stock index drops by 2.95 points on Tuesday


(MENAFN) The Turkish standard stock index started Tuesday’s session at 2,082.81 points, dropping by 2.95 points, or 0.14 percent, from the last ending.

On Monday, the BIST 100 index ended the day at 2,085.76 points after jumping 12.82 points, or 0.62%, with an everyday exchanging capacity of 36.5 billion liras (USD2.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish currency trading rate soared to 13.4567 on 9.30 a.m. domestic time (0630GMT), in comparison to 13.4320 at Monday's end.

The euro/lira trade rate also surged to 15.3326 from 15.3220, whereas a British pound exchanged for 18.3652 liras, climbing from 18.3620. Moreover, Brent crude oil sold for about USD87.72 for one barrel on 10 a.m. domestic time (0700GMT).
