Qatar - Amir receives letter of thanks from United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees

The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has received a written message from HE the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, in which he expressed thanks and gratitude to HH the Amir for the support of the State of Qatar and its sending of emergency winter relief materials to the Afghan capital, Kabul, by organizing an airlift on board four aircraft of the Qatari Armed Forces to transport 91 tons of relief materials.

In his message, HE Filippo Grandi praised Qatar's leading humanitarian in Afghanistan and its support for the work of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees for the benefit of displaced persons, especially at this critical time with the deteriorating economic and humanitarian conditions.

Also, HE the High Commissioner expressed appreciation for the strong partnership between the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the State of Qatar, looking forward to furthering cooperation in this field.
