Hamad Medical Corporation's Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital (HMGH) has been designated a Covid-19 treatment facility - enabling HMC to provide high-quality care for Covid-19 patients.

Patients with Covid-19 experiencing moderate to severe symptoms will be admitted to HMGH, where they will receive treatment to manage their symptoms while being closely monitored.

The decision to design HMGH as a Covid-19 treatment facility is part of the health care sector's proactive plan to ensure its ability to manage any potential surge in Covid-19 infections in the coming weeks.

HMC noted that patients, who are not infected with the Covid-19 and are currently admitted to HMGH, will be safely transferred to other HMC facilities, in addition to suspending all HMGH outpatient services temporarily until further notice.

It indicated that the HMGH emergency department will continue to treat emergency medical cases transferred to the hospital via the ambulance service.

HMC has several hospitals dedicated to treating Covid-19 patients, including the Communicable Disease Center, the Cuban Hospital, HMGH, and the field hospital.
