(MENAFN- UkrinForm) President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed holding a summit with the leaders of Azerbaijan and Turkey in Kyiv in February 2022.

Zelensky made the statement during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Brussels, Ukrinform reports citing the press service of the Ukrainian head of state.

The president recalled the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, set to be marked in February 2022.

'In view of this, the President proposed that a summit be held in Kyiv in February with the participation of the leaders of the three states,' the President's Office reported.

Zelensky also focused on the transportation and logistical potential of cooperation between the countries, in particular on the need to intensify work on the transit of goods en route Europe - Caucasus - Asia via rail and sea transport.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on December 15-16, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine is on a working visit to Brussels, including to take part in the sixth Eastern Partnership Summit.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would be visiting Ukraine in early 2022.
