Mengdie is a Lecturer in Data Science at the Information School, University of Sheffield. Her research interests revolve around how people interact with artificial systems in the process of acquiring information, and how this interaction augments the user experience and influences decision-making. Her current work focuses on analysing and visualizing complex multimodal datasets for identifying outbreaks of infectious disease and their impact on human mobility choices, with research into user engagement techniques.
