Qatar Legacy Ambassadors look forward to an exceptional FIFA World Cup next year

Doha: World stars and ambassadors of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), praised Qatar's preparations to host the World Cup a year from now while attending the unveiling ceremony of the countdown clock for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. 

They stressed that the world will be on a date with an exceptional edition of the World Cup in 2022, after the stadiums and sports facilities were ready a year before the important event.

The Chief of Tournament Experience at SC, Khalid Ali Al Mawlawi, which is responsible for organising the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, expressed his happiness and pride at the completion of most of the World Cup stadiums to host the tournament next year.

Al Mawlawi told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that he is happy to be present in this ceremony, which indicates the readiness of the State of Qatar to host this distinguished tournament, and he is proud of the readiness of most stadiums to host the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Mutaz Barshim, Qatar's Olympic high jump champion, said the dream has become a reality, and we are present today in the countdown ceremony, and one year remains until the kick off of the World Cup, and it will be a successful tournament.

Barshim invited all fans from around the world to attend the World Cup next year, enjoy watching the matches, the atmosphere of the tournament and its accompanying activities, and learn about Qatar's culture, customs and traditions.

For his part, the Executive Vice President of Operations for Qatar 2022 Jassem Al Jassim confirmed that everyone is following the great interest of Qatar in stadiums and facilities and the accelerating pace in completing preparations for the big event a year before the start of the tournament.

The Communications Executive Director of SC, Delivery and Legacy Fatma Al Nuaimi confirmed that unveiling the countdown clock is considered important by revealing the clock at the Corniche in the heart of Doha, because it is a great opportunity for citizens, residents and all fans to share these wonderful feelings.

Al Nuaimi said that since the announcement of Qatar's victory in organising the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the journey of preparations has begun in an outstanding manner, and successes have been achieved from one stage to another, as Qatar passed many stages until it reached today the readiness and completion of eight stadiums.

Cafu, former captain of the Brazilian national team and Qatar Legacy Ambassador who won the World Cup twice with Brazil in 1994 and 2002, said that Qatar, with the seriousness and preparations it has shown now, confirms to the world that it will present an impressive tournament and that the world will enjoy one of the best tournaments in the history of football.

On the other hand, Cameroonian former football star Samuel Eto'o said that Qatar confirms every time that it possesses a lot of capabilities, referring to Stadium 974, which was announced as ready to host the tournament matches and is considered a wonderful architectural masterpiece, and that the idea of installing the stadium and benefiting from it after the event is an amazing thing indicates that Qatar is capable of achieving a lot by hosting the World Cup a year later.

For his part, Mubarak Mustafa, the former Qatari football star and SC Ambassador stressed that Qatar has prepared all the stadiums, noting that they, as ambassadors of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, have visited all the stadiums and know the extent of their readiness, praising the great effort made by the Committee.
